Description
Lord Ganesha is the eldest son of Lord Shiva, the destructor and goddess Parvati, the Adi-Shakti. He is the lord of beginning and remover of obstacles, and is the bestower of good luck and prosperity. In this statue the lord is precisely carved out of the black stone and beautifully portrayed sitting over a platform with his one leg resting on the floor and other raised. In his two hands he bears a mace and a noose and in his other hand he bears the sweet bowl as a reward of leading a courteous and righteous life. The Lord blesses his devotees with his fourth hand to overcome all ordeals and succeed in life. There is a snake tied on the pot belly of the lord and his mount, mouse is placed beneath his feet.
