Lord Jagannath is the “Lord of the Universe” and is one of the forms of lord Vishnu in the kali Yuga. He is always represented along with his brother Balaram and sister Subhadra. Lord Jagannath has a very mystical appearance, he is a statuette carved out on wood, and has big round eyes and a symmetrical facial appearance and the wooden idol seems to be missing palm and feet but his captivating red smile tends to capture the soul of any living being. His brother is as beautifully carved as him with the same height, who is believed to be the same Sesha nag who accompanied him as his younger brother Lakshman in Treta Yuga and as his elder brother Balarama in Dwapara Yuga. Their youngest sister Subhadra is brightly painted yellow and is portrayed without arm and legs.
